EXHIBITION

“LOOP SERIES”

Works: 1999 - 2012

Dunedin Community Gallery, 20 Princes St, Dunedin

15th - 29th FEBRUARY, 2012

The ‘Loop Series’ paintings are a delightful interplay of rhythmic-line, spatial-shape and  juxtaposed colour.

‘LOOP SERIES’ at the Dunedin Community Gallery this February will present a ‘window’ into the consistency of Piggott’s exploratory development of this dynamic, and colourful, body of work over the last thirteen years...

Exhibition

“SUMMERLAND”

Dunedin Community Gallery, 20 Princes St, Dunedin

9th - 20th JANUARY, 2012

Rob Piggott’s “SUMMERLAND” exhibition presents two series of works from this dedicated Dunedin-based New Zealand abstract artist.

His recent Wanaka Paintings on canvas are to be complemented by the earlier oil-pastel and dye Daybreak Series.

The bold Wanaka Paintings in their linear graphic ‘grid-like’ style, and airy colour, make reference to the land, sky, lake, and Summer sun of the Wanaka region.

In contrast the Daybreak Series, with their triangular wedge-like motif, provide an expressive force of colour, exploring the contrast and transitions between night to day, and from light to dark.

Piggott’s “SUMMERLAND” promises to be a strong exhibition, with a positive glow.
