LANDMARK:

  1. n.conspicuous and easily recognized feature of landscape; event marking important stage in process or history.

The “Landmarks” series of works are Piggott’s personal, abstract responses to the natural New Zealand environment; -it’s locations, experiences and memories.

-Walking along an exposed beach; -a slither of light in a dense forest; -the sensation of a winding bush-track; -the colours of a mountain-dawn;  -the memory of a pebble in a shoe!

Perhaps you will find your own associations....

Beautifully coloured, all pieces are hand-drawn with Conte and Pastel, overlaying an offset colour-monotype on Lana-Royale paper.
