During his Masters Degree art practice, Piggott refined and developed his rhythmical ‘Spiral Songs’ and ‘Waiata’ series into the oilstick on paper works ‘Loopholes’.
The 1999 ‘Loopholes’ series was the precursor to ‘LOOP’ that followed in 2001, then also the ‘Sonata’ series from 2002 onwards.
The terminology “Loophole’, suggests a convoluted twist in a system that makes or becomes a new creative space, a little world of it’s own; -where the rules of the previous system no longer apply.
